How is Carbon Trading undertake?

The simplest type of carbon trade involves an entity preparing a contract that describes and specifies the kind of activity they are undertaking to either reduce or offset emissions. The contract may or may not be independently verified, although doing so will increase buyer confidence and probably attract a higher price. This contractual commitment is then sold to another entity that wishes to make use of the specified amount of the reduction or offset. Contractual commitments are usually traded "over the counter" (OTC), which means that the trade is usually a bilateral one between a willing buyer and a willing seller without the need for a market to exist. OTC trades are usually single trades where the terms are either partially or fully confidential. OTC markets are relatively simple and operate where there is limited "liquidity" (that is, not many trades are occurring) or where the product being traded is somewhat unique for each trade.

Carbon Trading -What is Carbon Trading?-

In economic, carbon trading allows a country (developed countries) to use developing countries’s emission of carbon dioxide by investing in reforestation and clean energy in developing country.

What is the Kyoto agreement?

The Kyoto agreement is an agreement that the word made to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas by cutting its dependence of fossil fuels. The Kyoto agreement began in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 when world leaders, worried about predictions of global warming. Negotiators met in Kyoto, Japan, and agreed that annual amount of greenhouse gas in the period 2008 to 2012 should fall to 5.2 per cent which below then 1990 level.

Signed, refused, George W Bush
155 countries have signed the Kyoto agreement such as Germany, UK, Canada and Japan. George W bush refused to sign the Kyoto agreement because of the two reasons. One is that it would harm the United States economy by requiring very costly changes to manufacturing, transportation, and other aspects of business. Another reason is that India and China didn’t singed up the Kyoto Agreement where economic advancement is valued.

When Do You Send Greenhouse Gases into the Air?

Whenever you ...

・Watch TV
・Use the Air Conditioner
・Turn on a Light
・Use a Hair Dryer
・Ride in a Car
・Play a Video Game
・Listen to a Stereo
・Wash or Dry Clothes
・Use a Dish Washer
・Microwave a Meal

... you are helping to send greenhouse gas into the air.To perform many of these functions, you need to use electricity. Electricity comes from power plants. Most power plants use coal and oil to make electricity. Burning coal and oil produces greenhouse gases. Other things we do send greenhouse gases into the air too; The trash that we send to landfills produces a greenhouse gas called methane.Methane is also produced by the animals we raise for dairy and meat products and when we take coal out of the ground. Whenever we drive or ride in a car, we are adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. And, when factories make the things that we buy and use everyday, they too are sending greenhouse gases into the air.

What will happen if global warming continues? -3-

Want of Food
We will suffer from a want of food. The global warming will change the climate of the earth as never before. That means some places have more rainfall and the other places have lesser rainfall than before; therefore, the danger of flood damage and lack of water will be more seriousness. It will also affect the farming and the fishery a lot. The production of provision will extremely decrease and the change of current will cause a shortage of seafood. Many people who live in a poor country already starve to death. If the climate changes, they will be more hunted down. Besides that, Japan imports a lot of foods form other countries. If that countries are affected by flooding or drought and their productions of eating reduce, they will not sell provisions to Japan. We will not able to get enough foods if the global warming gets worse and we may scramble for them.

This is what is happining in Africa......
